The HOA won a $5000 grant for a community garden to be located at 14805 Cane Field drive, Charlotte, NC 28273.  It will be located in our park area which has irrigation and electricty as well as a picnic shelter and playground for kids. Preliminary plans are to install a chain link fence ,  8x16 raised beds and to have a common area for larger crops like water melon, corn, pumpkins, squash.
We have also bought 4 blueberry plants 5 figs, 5 thornless black berries and 100 strawberry plants for community harvest. Individual beds will be $20 rental per season.  We hope to start construction of raised beds in February, weather permitting. If you would like to reserve a bed please DO THE FOLLOWIGN:

3. Please put the address in your GPS to see how far of a drive it is. From past expereince I do not recommend renting a bed unless you are a 5 min or less drive away. 

This will allow us to gauge interest and build the appropriate number of raised beds. If you change your mind refunds will be given up till end of Feb, after that the funds are no longer refundable.
